Sales Application Engineer – Naval Defense Manufacturing Salary:

Our client, a manufacturer of axial and centrifugal fans and blowers supporting industrial, commercial, marine, and Naval Defense applications worldwide, including large scale and mission critical environments. This role ensures the best product fit for each application while balancing cost, performance, and manufacturability. As a key technical liaison, the Application Engineer works closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, sales and customer service to deliver timely and accurate proposals.
In this role, you will support the sales team with pre‑sales technical expertise, including reviewing customer specifications, performing product selection and costing, and preparing proposals and quotes. You will partner closely with engineering and manufacturing to ensure solutions are technically sound and manufacturable, while using strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills to evaluate complex applications and address technical challenges throughout the sales process.
The ideal candidate is a technically strong applications professional with experience in product selection and costing within a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting complex mechanical or industrial equipment. You are organized, comfortable managing multiple projects, and confident communicating with sales, customers, and cross functional teams. You bring strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills, sound judgment, and a high level of professionalism and integrity.
Requirementsfor the Sales Application Engineer:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years applications experience including selection and costing, preferably in the fan, rotating equipment or related technical industry.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects with precision and professionalism.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems.
- Proven ability to quickly assess complex issues and identify root causes/key success factors.
- Decision‑making skills including knowledge of varying decision‑making styles and appropriateness of each balanced with the necessity to escalation to proper channels.
- The ability to interact with diverse cultures and demonstrate effective communication skills with associates, suppliers and customers in a variety of business functions.
