Ben Hur Construction Company has been in business for over 100 years. Founded in 1909 as a local steel erection contractor, the company has grown into the strongest erector, fabricator, and general contractor performing complex work across the Country.
We are hiring 2026 summer interns to work in St. Louis, MO. Our internships are designed to provide students real world experience while working on corporate assignments.
Position SummaryThe Engineering Summer Intern will support project managers, project engineers, and field teams in the planning, coordination, and execution of steel and precast erection projects. This hands‑on internship provides exposure to real‑world construction environments, engineering practices, and project management processes.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with reviewing structural drawings and erection plans.
- Support project personnel with layout, measurements, and quality checks.
- Participate in safety meetings and learn about safety protocols.
- Help track project progress, material deliveries, and daily reports.
- Conduct site assessments and assist with inspections and documentation.
- Use project management software for tasks to support projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, project engineers, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Preferably from an American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) accredited program.
- Strong interest in structural steel and construction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in outdoor and active construction environments.
- Real‑world experience in steel and precast construction and valuable field experience to better inform engineering decisions.
- Real world communication skills that will better prepare you for life after college.
- Exposure to project management and field operations.
- Mentorship from experienced construction professionals.

Traditionally our interns will work Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The expected start date is mid‑May through early June, depending on candidate availability. The expected end date is early‑mid August, depending on candidate availability. This is subject to change based on business and education program guidelines.
