Overview
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties &Key Responsibilities
- Supports the purchasing and supply chain functions by managing raw material orders and tracking inventory levels.
- Generate purchase orders based on inventory reports, production schedules, and forecasted demand.
- Track lead times and ensure materials are ordered proactively to prevent shortages.
- Maintain accurate records of material usage, receipts, and adjustments.
- Coordinating vendor shipments and ensuring products arrive on time to support production.
- Communicate regularly with vendors to confirm pricing, lead times, and order status.
- Schedule and track in-bound shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, or quality issues by coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
- Assist with vendor performance monitoring, including on-time delivery and quality ratings.
- Maintain purchasing files, order confirmations, delivery receipts, and associated documentation.
- Update and manage purchasing data in ERP/MRP systems.
- Assist in obtaining quotes, comparing prices, and supporting cost-saving initiatives.
- Support the Supply Chain Supervisor with reporting, analysis, and special projects as needed.
- Work with production, warehouse, and quality teams to ensure material accuracy and availability.
- Communicate material issues or delays promptly to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with accounting on invoice matching or discrepancies related to material receipts.

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain (manufacturing experience preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and experience with ERP/MRP systems.

- Occasional lifting or carrying of light items such as files, office supplies, or a laptop (typically up to 10–20 pounds).
- Regular communication through speaking and hearing in person, by phone, and during virtual meetings.
