Seeking an experienced tax professional to provide high-level support during peak filing season. This engagement focuses on preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, advising clients on tax matters, and ensuring timely, accurate filings in a deadline-driven environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex returns, collaborate with experienced professionals, and make an immediate impact during a critical period of the tax cycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare and review complex individual income tax returns, including multi-schedule filings and K-1 reporting
- Complete and examine business entity returns, including corporate and partnership filings
- Analyze financial statements and trial balances to identify and reconcile book-to-tax differences
- Develop and maintain depreciation schedules and fixed asset roll-forwards
- Evaluate prior-year filings to ensure consistency and uncover potential planning opportunities
- Communicate directly with clients to request documentation, clarify discrepancies, and resolve outstanding matters
- Research tax regulations and apply current laws to address technical tax issues
- Support preparation of extensions, quarterly estimated payments, and multi-state filings
- Oversee and review work completed by junior team members, providing guidance as needed
- Assist in managing workflow to meet strict filing deadlines during peak season
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 4–7 years of public accounting experience with a concentration in tax
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing both individual and business tax returns
- Solid understanding of federal and multi-state tax requirements
- Proficiency with professional tax software (experience with leading platforms preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- CPA license preferred
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals or closely held businesses is a plus
