Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in financial reporting, inventory accounting, and cost analysis for a growing manufacturing operation. This role supports the month-end close, partners with operations, and ensures the accuracy of financial statements, inventory valuation, and cost data. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working cross-functionally in a plant or manufacturing environment.

• Lead components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close (journal entries, accruals, reconciliations)
• Support inventory accounting, including standard costing, variances, and valuation
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts including inventory, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
• Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle count programs
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and production teams to understand cost drivers
• Support audits (internal & external) and maintain internal control compliance
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to cost of goods and operations
• Identify and support process improvement initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiencies
• Participate in ERP or financial system enhancements and implementations

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA a plus
• 3–6+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing, CPG, industrials, or production environment
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP, inventory accounting, and cost accounting concepts
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, etc.)
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills
• Excellent organization, accuracy, and communication abilities

• Experience with standard cost builds, BOMs, and material/labor routings
• Exposure to operational KPIs (yield, throughput, downtime, capacity, etc.)
• Familiarity with physical inventory audits or cycle count environments

• Hands-on operator with strong attention to detail
