Schaus-Vorhies Contracting is a well-established pre-engineered metal building erection company with over 40 years in business. We are currently hiring experienced Steel Erectors / PEMB Installers to join our growing crew.
If you have at least 1 year of experience in metal building construction or structural steel erection, we want to talk to you!
This role includes all phases of pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) construction, including:
- Structural steel frames
- Girts and purlins
- Wall and roof panels
- Insulation systems
- Trim and flashing
- Gutters and downspouts
- Specialty project components as required
This is a hands-on, physical work performed outdoors and at heights.
Schedule & Travel- Monday–Friday
- 8–10 hour days
- Overtime frequently available
- Occasional Saturdays based on project deadlines
- Per diem for projects outside Fairfield, IA
- Hotel provided for overnight work
- Company pool vehicle available for travel to/from job sites
- Minimum 1 year experience in steel erection, metal buildings, or commercial construction
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work at heights above 15 feet
- Must be 18 years or older
- Willingness to work overtime
- Pre-employment drug screen required
All company-provided fall protection (PFAS and retractable lanyards) is supplied. Personal fall protection equipment must be inspected prior to use on job sites.
