Volunteer Animal Care

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release native animals that are sick, injured or orphaned. We care for a wide variety of animals including monkeys, anteaters, kinkajou, iguanas, and more. With a dedicated and well-trained team of volunteers, biologists, veterinarians, and students, we work to provide the best possible care for each animal in need.

Wild Sun Rescue Center offers unique volunteer programs. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Feeding pre-release animals
• Enclosure cleaning and maintenance
• Nursery animal handling
• Syringe and bottle feeding
• Grounds maintenance and gardening
• Other duties, as needed

For this position, you must be at least 18 years old. The minimum stay is 3 weeks, but we encourage longer stays as consistency is important for the animals in our care. Specific duties are assigned to volunteers based on the amount of time committed and overall experience. Most volunteers work 6 days a week, 8 hours a day, based on current needs.
