Reports To: Fabrication Lead
Position SummaryThe Fabricator is responsible for performing a variety of fabrication, assembly, and finishing tasks in a manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in producing high-quality parts and assemblies, operating fabrication equipment (including laser cutting systems), and collaborating with the machine shop and CNC programming team to ensure precision and efficiency in production. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to learn multiple disciplines through cross-training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate fabrication machinery including laser cutting systems, press brakes, shears, and other related equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine specifications and fabrication requirements.
- Inspect and measure finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Assist with machine setup, calibration, and maintenance of fabrication and laser equipment.
- Collaborate with CNC programmers and machine shop personnel to optimize production flow and accuracy.
- Participate in cross-training efforts to gain proficiency in machining, CNC operation, and other production processes.
- Handle raw materials and finished parts safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all company safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment and quality issues and report larger concerns to supervision.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in productivity, safety, and quality.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 1-3 years of fabrication or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience with laser cutting, press brake, or other fabrication equipment a plus.
- Basic understanding of CNC machining processes and programming concepts desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Willingness to cross-train and work collaboratively across departments.
- Basic computer skills for equipment interface and data entry.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
