Babel Institute is an independent, nonpartisan public policy think tank dedicated to advancing practical policy solutions to the political, economic, and social challenges facing young people around the world. Our Regional Studies Program, which covers the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Africa, conducts research and analysis on key policy issues affecting youth in each region.

The United States Studies program at Babel Institute examines the policies that shape the daily lives and long-term opportunities of young Americans, including immigration, education, economic mobility, housing, healthcare, and youth violence. The program translates these realities into concrete policy analysis and practical solutions that inform public understanding and contribute to policy discussions.

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and produce outputs – policy briefs, essays, and reports – on political, economic, and social developments in the United States
• Support research publications and written outputs under the guidance of the Director of United States Studies
• Compile data, background materials, and regional analysis to support ongoing research and publications
• Participate in meetings and contribute to collaborative research projects across the Regional Studies Program

• Current undergraduate student enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university
• Background or demonstrated interest in U.S. politics, international relations, public policy, or related fields
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
• Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines independently
• Experience or academic interest in United States policy issues is preferred but not required

All candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. Foreign nationals must have employment authorization, as Babel Institute does not sponsor visas for fellows.

This is an unpaid fellowship. A stipend may be available to support special projects and field research undertaken during the fellowship.

• Experience conducting applied policy research within a think tank environment.
• Research guidance provided through a peer-led, youth-directed structure, with oversight and support from senior staff.
• Publication opportunities through Verity Voices Journal and affiliated outlets.
• Build a professional portfolio and strengthen your credentials for graduate studies, research careers, or policy work.
