Experience:
Five (5) years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization: or two (2) years of applicable college/vocational/military//technical school and three (3) years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area:
Mechanical – at least four (4) of the five (5) years of experience must include successful completion of one (1) year of vocational/military/technical school training in practical or industrial arts and a minimum of two (2) years of mechanical fabrication and structural/fixture setup supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.
Required Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen and have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance. An experienced Telemetry Operator with 5+ years of hands-on support in telemetry operations within a test range environment. Candidates should have demonstrated proficiency in telemetry ground station operations, including real-time system monitoring and equipment handling. This position requires up to 50% travel to support field operations, mission execution, system deployments, and customer engagements.
Duties: The Telemetry Operator will support mission operations by conducting day-to-day telemetry system tasks, including real-time data acquisition, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting during test events. Under the guidance of senior telemetry personnel, the operator will assist in configuring telemetry ground station equipment, verifying system readiness, and ensuring data is properly captured and distributed. The role includes supporting mission planning activities by preparing equipment, performing system checks, and coordinating with engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of telemetry activities.
During live operations, the Telemetry Operator will provide hands-on support for antenna operations, ensuring proper alignment, signal acquisition, and system performance. They will also monitor telemetry system performance, report anomalies, and assist with corrective actions as directed by senior staff. Additional responsibilities include maintaining operational logs, supporting post-mission data handling and organization, and contributing to continuous improvement of telemetry procedures.
The operator may also participate in field deployments, traveling as needed to support system setup, test operations, and mission execution. This position provides an opportunity to gain deeper experience with telemetry systems and antenna operations while working closely with senior engineers and mission personnel.
Desired
Qualifications:
Experience with antenna operations is strongly desired, particularly in dynamic test environments. Previous experience with the MOSAIC system or MOSAIC – like systems is desired. Experience supporting missile flight tests in both ship-based and land-based settings is highly beneficial.
