• Assist in the coaching, mentoring, and implementation of the DCBA Safety & Health program in the office and field.
• Assist in the development of a Site-Specific Safety Management Plan for the project to ensure a safe work environment for all company employees, contractors, visitors and the community.
• Coordinate with each client’s Safety Representatives to understand their expectations.
• Ensure injured workers are offered modified duties and documentation has been completed. Monitor and follow up on modified workers in the field.
• Ensure new hires are provided with a documented Safety Orientation.
• Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately and corrective actions are followed up on and completed.
• Hold monthly Safety Committee meetings.
• Inform the Project Managers and Superintendents of any new or conflictive legislative matters that could impact the project.
• Participate and assist the Superintendents, Foreman, and Project Managers in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause and corrective actions where necessary.
• Provide continuous reminders of DCBA’s safety expectations to all members working in the field.
• Provide support to projects by maintaining a visible presence in the field performing site visits to the entire project and coordinating with the site Superintendents and Project Managers.
• Regularly audit the Site-Specific Plan for compliance and update to ensure the alignment with project scope and conditions.
• Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable legislation and applicable standards, to ensure compliance.

Visits to various sites around New England are required. Must be able to climb permanent and temporary stairs, climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Must have close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; be exposed to moving mechanical parts; mobile and stationary cranes;

elevated structures; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.

• Bachelor’s in Occupational Safety and Health or similar.

• 0-3 years

• Experience in commercial construction, including office buildings, tenant fit-outs, research labs, university dormitory buildings, university academic buildings, residential buildings, and hospitals.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• OSHA certification 30 Hour.

All candidates MUST currently be able to reliably commute to projects within the New England area. Out of state applicants will be rejected unless a cover letter is provided indicating date of planned move to the Boston area.
