- Perform daily accounts receivable activities including cash application, customer payments, and reconciliation of AR balances.
- Independently research and resolve customer short payments, trade deductions, returns, shortages, and miscellaneous claims.
- Manage customer vendor portals and maintain accurate deduction and claim documentation.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and perform proactive follow-up on overdue balances.
- Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, Receiving, and carriers to resolve credits, damaged goods, shortages, and delivery discrepancies.
- Participate in new customer setup, including review of customer information and coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Research customer creditworthiness and prepare proposed credit limits for management review and approval.
- Prepare routine accounts receivable and deduction reports and provide analysis to management.
- Assist with general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities as assigned.
- Identify process improvement opportunities related to AR, deductions, and accounting workflows.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 0–3 years of relevant accounting or accounts receivable experience, including internships or co-op experience.
Qualifications & Skills- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.
