Utility Worker

Fairfield‑Suisun Sewer District (FSSD) is currently seeking a full‑time Utility Worker. This entry‑level position offers growth and learning opportunities in the wastewater industry.

• A desire to work in the wastewater industry.
• A strong drive to learn and further develop skills to allow opportunities for growth and progression.

• Maintain landscaping and grounds; mow, trim, prune, keep walkways and parking lots clean.
• Perform facility maintenance: repair fences, roads, irrigation systems, complete work orders, assist with building upkeep.
• Work with maintenance staff to inspect and perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on equipment, pumps, motors.
• Assist with sewer collection system work, including cleaning and inspecting sewer lines.

• Education:
  
  A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Six months of laboring work with light construction equipment or hand power tools common to a mechanical, metal or building trade.
• License/Certificate:
  Valid California Class C driver’s license with a safe driving record.

• Background checks may be conducted.
• Independent travel to perform work at other sites.
• Hours of work may include weekends, holidays, irregular hours and after normal business hours.
