Conducts regular walk through inspections of the facility. Maintains general shelter maintenance and janitorial functions; cleans and sanitizes kennels, checks for sickness and injury of caged animals.
Rinses kennels with hose pipe.
Feeds animals, mixes and prepares food. Provides animals with food and water to maintain optimal health.
Performs housekeeping kennel duties such as cleaning cages, changing litter boxes, changing toys, and changing out feeding and water pans. Washes dishes, pans, trays, etc.
Sweeps and mops floors.
Washes, dries, and folds laundry.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONSPerforms related duties as required.
Transports animal to clinics and hospitals as needed.
Transports and supervises inmate workers as needed.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCERequires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and some experience with animals or animal care, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
