At North Bay Health, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for Urgent Care or Primary Care functions as a member of the multidisciplinary medical team. The APP is a health care professional with advanced education and training in the care of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations. The APP works under the direction of a licensed physician and follows standardized protocols and procedures in collaboration with the supervising physician.
The APP is classified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensed in the state of California and will work in the Napa/Solano County area.

PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Performs physical examinations and updates patient history.
- Formulates diagnoses and treatment plans appropriate for patient needs.
- Orders ancillary services as appropriate.
- Reviews all diagnostic test results and follows up on abnormalities, reviewing results with patients.
- Requests specialty consultation as approved by the supervising physician.
- Provides patient education as appropriate.
- Provides treatments and procedures as appropriate.
- Assists in the clinical management of patients and works closely with clinic members to ensure patients receive appropriate services.
- Counsels and educates patients to support compliance with the treatment plan.
- Notifies supervising physician when a referral or transfer of patient care is required for urgent or emergent care.
- Documents patient care in a timely manner.
- Identifies high‑risk problems and transfers care to the appropriate physician.
- Collaborates and communicates with physicians on patient care issues.
- Collaborates with other health‑care team members as needed.
- Seeks physician consultation for cases that exceed ability or when uncertain about diagnosis, when treatment fails, or when patient expresses a desire to see the physician.
- Participates in team conferences to review patient status.
- Participates in data collection and outcome measurement to ensure quality care.
- Works collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient patient flow through appointments.
- Completes and submits coded fee tickets for each patient encounter.
- Promotes excellent customer service.
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program approved by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Or graduate of an accredited nursing program including a Nurse Practitioner Program.
Licensure and Credentials- Current Physician Assistant licensure by the State of California Physician Assistant Examining Committee and Board Certified.
- OR current California licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and Board Certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
- Current AHA or equivalent certification in CPR.
- Maintains a current DEA license for schedule‑II drugs and above.
- Maintains a current prescription drug monitoring program number.
- Experience as a Physician Assistant practicing in a related field, or completion of internship in primary care at North Bay.
- Or two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, or four years of clinical experience as a Nurse, or completion of internship at North Bay Health. One year of experience in a related field and ambulatory care preferred.
- Evaluates patient’s physical and emotional status.
- Provides patient care based on age‑related needs.
- Current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for adult, adolescent, pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Proficient with computers, MS Word, Outlook, telephone. Knowledge of Cerner preferred.

Attendance is an essential function of the job. The employee is required to stand, sit, bend, use a computer keyboard, and lift not more than 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made. Hours and location are variable based on business need.
Compensation- Pay range: $82.00 – $106.00 per hour.
- Maximum rate commensurate with 20+ years APP experience.
- Offered rate based on years of APP experience.
- Generous per‑diem shift differentials available to qualified staff.
