Solano County Department Of Information Technology (DoIT) provides customer‑oriented access to information and services through the use of technology. The county strives for cost‑effective use of technology with interactive exchange and sharing of data across departments, constituents, other governments, and business partners.

- Support the business goals of the county efficiently.
- Provide safe and secure systems and an integration mechanism to streamline business practices.
- Provide ongoing technology training for staff.
- Provide opportunities for constituents to utilize technology in their interaction with the county.
- Share and exchange information using multiple channels.
Manages and oversees a major information technology system, group, or program including staff and contract resources. Plans, designs, and coordinates the maintenance of the most difficult and complex infrastructure system or computerized data processing and applications systems for large, multi‑departmental or county‑wide functions. Acts as a project/team leader and technical expert in assigned areas and oversees major IT initiatives.
Responsibilities- Lead a major IT section, program or initiative.
- Supervise lower‑level IT professionals.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise, project management, system development, GIS, infrastructure design, planning, and emerging technology implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Information Technology or related field.
- Six (6) years of IT systems and/or application development and support experience, including two (2) years of project lead or supervisory responsibility.
- Additional experience may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis for the educational requirement.
- Valid California Driver’s License, Class C, may be required.
- Technical certifications demonstrating expertise in specific bodies of knowledge may be required for some positions.
