Director, Primary and Urgent Care Overview
At North Bay Health, the Director of Primary Care and Urgent Care provides strategic and operational leadership for the health system’s ambulatory division, overseeing the development, performance, and growth of primary care and urgent care services.
This role operates in a dyad partnership with the Chief of Primary Care and the Medical Director of Urgent Care, ensuring a collaborative approach to clinical and operational excellence.
Together, they drive patient-centered care, optimize service delivery, and enhance access while aligning with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
Responsibilities- Collaborate closely with ambulatory and hospital leaders, as well as other senior executives, to align primary and urgent care services with broader organizational priorities and system-wide strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a mentor and coach for emerging leaders, fostering leadership development across primary and urgent care services.
- Shape the future of ambulatory care within North Bay, ensuring patients receive high-quality, accessible, and efficient care across primary and urgent care settings.
- Provide strong, on-site leadership to support the rapidly growing health system and drive strategic initiatives within Ambulatory Services.
- Collaborate closely with patients, physicians, and operational leaders to ensure alignment with patient and provider needs.
- Lead the expansion of new primary care and urgent care clinics, and grow physician and staff teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, nursing, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in ambulatory care, primary care, or urgent care settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare operations, financial management, and strategic planning.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills with experience in a dyad leadership model preferred.
- Knowledge of value-based care, population health management, and ambulatory growth strategies.

- $195K to $205K based on years of experience doing the duties of the role.
- Eligible for annual VCP Bonus.
