Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) – PRN

Join Bridge Home Health & Hospice to provide compassionate post‑acute care in California.

Pay Range

Base pay: $90.00/hr – $110.00/hr

Job Summary

The speech‑language pathologist implements standards of care for speech language pathology services and ensures adherence to all conditions in the Service Agreement.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct evaluations, assess home environment, and determine equipment needs.
  • Identify functional speech defects and establish a plan of care.
  • Administer speech therapy programs using specialized therapeutic techniques and equipment.
  • Recommend communication devices/aids as indicated.
  • Collaborate with referring physicians and organization personnel to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Participate in case conferences, in‑services, and other meetings as required.
  • Prepare and submit notes per organization policy.
  • Maintain clinical competency in speech language pathology practice and theory.
  • Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other services and refer as appropriate.
  • Instruct patient, family/caregiver, and other health care personnel in the treatment regime as indicated.
  • Supervise home health aide in procedures directly related to the speech‑language therapy plan of care.
  • Perform other duties as required to facilitate the delivery of speech language pathology services.
Qualifications
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in speech‑language pathology (SLP).
  • Licensed as a speech‑language pathologist in the state where services are furnished, or if the state does not license SLPs:
  • Successfully complete 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum or be in the process of accumulating such experience.
  • Perform not less than 9 months of supervised full‑time SLP services after obtaining a master’s or doctoral degree in SLP or a related field.
  • Successfully complete an approved national examination in SLP.
  • One (1) year’s clinical experience in Speech‑Language Pathology.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
  • Maintain a valid California Driver’s License with an automobile in good working order and insured per organization requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Sit occasionally for 1–3 hours.
  • Stand frequently for 3–6 hours.
  • Operate foot control or drive occasionally for 1–3 hours.
  • Walk occasionally on level surface for 1–3 hours.
  • Walk intermittently on unlevel surface for less than 1 hour.
  • Bend or climb intermittently for less than 1 hour.
  • Twist, kneel, crouch, and crawl occasionally for 1–3 hours.
  • Lift 50 pounds intermittently in less than 1 hour.
  • Carry up to 50 pounds intermittently in less than 1 hour.
  • Push up to 50 pounds intermittently in less than 1 hour.
  • Pull up to 50 pounds intermittently in less than 1 hour.
  • Maintain current and valid Driver’s License and Automobile Insurance coverage at all times.
