About Us
The Sierra School Antioch is operated by Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI). SESI Schools provide specialized education programming for K-12 students who require additional educational and behavioral supports to overcome challenges that impede success in a traditional school setting.
The Opportunity
The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing academic, emotional, and physical services to students needing additional support to thrive. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, using data to develop instructional plans, and collaborating with staff and families to improve student outcomes. We seek an exceptional teacher dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and meet students' needs using SESI instructional models, strategies, and curriculum
- Develop and maintain skill-appropriate lesson plans
- Use assessment data to modify instructional plans to enhance student performance
- Implement behavior support and intervention strategies, including de-escalation and crisis intervention, to ensure safety
- Maintain student forms and files as required by SESI and regulatory agencies
- Track and record student progress towards goals
- Collaborate with staff to foster critical thinking and academic rigor
- Participate in daily school functions such as supervision duties
- Light lifting, walking, and stair climbing may be required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Commitment to continuous learning and feedback
- Ability to adapt and remain flexible
