ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions as necessary.
- Researches vendors and orders office supplies/ materials needed.
- Performs duties related to returned checks for all monies collected in the county ie: forwards to specific departments notice and collection information.
- Monitors and manages DMV access for all departments utilizing this service.
- Processes credit card payments/ balances credit card payments to daily and monthly bank statements and credit card statements.
- Prepares receipts for departmental fees, fines, and retiree insurance.
- Monitors first time vehicle purchase report and issues delinquent letters to tax payers.
Suspends drivers licenses and releases suspensions when paid. - Scans and/or files documents for efficient retrieval.
- Assists external auditor with retrieving support information and documents.
- Files and processes returned mail, distributes accordingly to appropriate departments or re-mails with corrected address.
- Processes and reconciles online payments and issues receipts for daily mailing.
- Processes and reconciles in-person counter credit card payments and issues receipts for daily mailing.
- Validates bankruptcy notices from Bankruptcy Court and processes accordingly.
- Prepares or delivers daily cash deposits to bank.
Processes and transmits all checks to the bank through remote image. - Processes school claim information as needed.
- Utilizes various office machines such as a computer, typewriter, printer, telephone, copier, adding machine, currency counter and credit card machine.
- Provides assistance to customers which includes such duties as providing information regarding tax status, procedures, and other tax matters via communication through telephone, email, in person and mail.
- Provides directions given to appropriate department/agency for information being requested.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year of clerical, administrative support or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
