Position Overview

Allan Myers is seeking an Experienced Skilled Pipe Excavator Operator with a strong background in mainline pipe installation to join our Heavy Civil Construction team. The ideal candidate has at least five (5) plus years of experience operating excavators in underground utility work and site development. This position plays a critical role in the safe and precise excavation for stormwater, sewer, and waterline systems.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate hydraulic excavators (e.g., Cat 320, 330, 336 or similar) to excavate trenches for storm, sanitary, and water mainline pipe installations.

* Work closely with pipe crews and foremen to ensure proper trench depth, slope, and bedding for utilities.

* Utilize GPS and/or laser-guided systems for accurate digging and grade control.

* Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, grade stakes, and utility layouts.

* Perform routine daily equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and report mechanical issues promptly.

* Ensure safe trenching practices in compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

* Maintain clean and organized work zones and contribute to overall crew productivity.

Qualifications

* Minimum of 2 years of equipment operating experience required.

* Valid driver's license required.

* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) a plus.

* Related work experience required.
