RSVP Catering is seeking a proactive and client-focused Account Manager to support and manage catering sales opportunities while building strong client relationships and delivering exceptional event experiences. This role is ideal for a hospitality sales professional who has moved beyond an entry-level support position and is ready to take ownership of accounts and events, while continuing to grow toward a senior sales role.
The Account Manager serves as a key bridge between Account Associates and Account Executives, independently managing small to mid-sized catering opportunities and supporting larger or more complex events under the guidance of senior team members. This role works closely with Senior Account Executives, Account Associates, Kitchen, and Operations to ensure seamless execution and long-term client satisfaction.
What You’ll Do- Manage and close small to mid-sized catering opportunities with moderate revenue potential
- Support Account Executives on larger or more complex sales opportunities
- Meet or exceed individual monthly and annual sales goals appropriate to role level
- Identify opportunities to upsell menus, enhancements, and services while maintaining profitability
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts and events
- Build and maintain positive client relationships throughout the planning process
- Participate in client meetings, tastings, and site visits
- Act as a trusted resource to clients by understanding their goals and recommending thoughtful solutions
- Create accurate proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders (BEOs)
- Assist with menu development and pricing in collaboration with senior team members
- Ensure all event details are clearly documented and communicated to Kitchen and Operations
- Review event paperwork for accuracy and completeness
- Oversee planning and coordination for assigned events
- Participate in event walkthroughs and provide on-site support as needed
- Conduct post-event follow-up to ensure client satisfaction and encourage repeat business
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives and Account Associates to ensure event success
- Provide informal guidance and support to Account Associates on proposals and client communication
- Contribute to internal process improvements and team best practices
- Participate in networking events, tastings, and client outreach efforts
- Assist with sales and marketing initiatives aligned with company goals
- Support account-level or segment-focused growth strategies
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in catering, hospitality, events, or sales
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
- Professional, solutions-oriented approach to client service
- Comfort working with contracts, pricing, and event logistics
- Experience managing client accounts or closing sales
- Familiarity with CRM and event management software (Cater Xpert preferred)
- Experience working with corporate, social, or nonprofit events
Must have reliable access to a vehicle for travel to client meetings, venues, tastings, networking events, and event sites throughout the Northern Virginia/DC area.
- In-person position based in Fairfax, VA (with movement throughout the DMV per event coverage needs)
