Position Overview
Pender Veterinary Centre in Fairfax, VA is seeking a PM Emergency/Hospitalist Veterinarian to join the team.

Busy, 20,000 sq. ft., 24-hour full-service veterinary practice serving Northern Virginia for over 50 years. Dedicated exotic department, small animal practice, emergency practice, dual surgery suites, and in-house referral quality lab. Passionate veterinarians and staff focused on continuous learning and client service.
ResponsibilitiesThe Emergency/Attending Veterinarian provides standard ER care, manages care for hospitalized and surgical patients. Works with another ER DVM and 3-4 assistants on a 4-day on/off schedule, and is expected to work an overnight shift every 3rd or 4th month.

- Continuous ECG, pulse oximetry, capnography, blood pressure via multi-parameter monitors
- In-house lab capabilities (Hormone Assays, CBC, chemistry, electrolyte, co-ag monitors, cross-matching, etc.) for rapid results
- Telecytology with 20 minute turnaround to lab
- Endoscopic equipment with biopsy instruments and large screen TV
- Fully-stocked closed pharmacy with dedicated pharmacy techs
- 24/7/365 support from Emergency/Critical Care staff
Consistent 4 Days On/Off schedule. 40 hours/1 week of vacation yields 12 days off.
