Registered Nurse (RN) Critical Care Float Pool - Night shift

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Float Pool team. This full-time night shift role involves working from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with days varying. RNs in this position will float to ICU, PACU, ED, PCU, Medical, and Surgical units.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive patient health assessments, interpret data, and synthesize findings.

Develop individualized care plans based on assessments and patient population trends.

Support and empower patients and families through health promotion and end-of-life decisions.

Advocate for patient rights and provide counseling and resource coordination.

Address ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs to maximize outcomes and facilitate healthcare transitions.

Document all care activities according to standards and assist with documentation processes.

Evaluate documentation outcomes and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and lead other disciplines to achieve desired outcomes.

Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to healthcare team members.

Maintain professional development by obtaining at least six contact hours of education annually.

Additional Requirements:

Work schedule:

three 12-hour night shifts per week, days varying from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. RNs with an Associate’s Degree must commit to obtaining a BSN within 5 years of hire.
Experience:

Minimum of two years in critical care nursing.
Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.
