Overview
The Project Director provides strategic oversight for large‑scale construction projects across multiple sites. The Director is responsible for operational leadership and financial performance of assigned projects, ensuring successful delivery aligned with company goals, client expectations, contractual requirements, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities- Oversee large and complex projects, typically exceeding $10M, including new construction, repairs, and renovations.
- Review and approve scopes, budgets, estimates, and schedules across multiple projects.
- Produce detailed estimates, negotiate proposals with clients, produce subcontractor bid packages, administer and oversee field activities, and produce in‑house production reports and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, federal acquisition regulations (FAR), and corporate policies.
- Serve as senior representative for clients, government contracting officers, and stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts, manage change orders, and resolve escalated issues to maintain client trust.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Lead briefings, progress meetings, and strategic reviews.
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring accuracy in cost tracking and revenue forecasting.
- Collaborate with Business Managers and Accounting teams to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Support business development through proposal oversight and client engagement strategies.
- Drive company‑wide initiatives to enhance construction delivery, safety culture, and process efficiency.
- Ensure consistent application of Contractor Quality Control (CQC) standards and corporate safety programs.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement across project teams.
- May have supervisory responsibilities for professional, technical, and labor staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred; extensive experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction management, including 5 years leading large‑scale projects.
- Proven success managing concurrent construction projects valued at $15M–$100M+.
- Must have experience contracting with the Federal Government and the Department of Defense.
- Advanced leadership and organizational management skills.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, estimating, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management platforms (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera).
- Proficiency with construction software (scheduling, estimating, accounting, CAD) is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk, drive profitability, and foster a positive team culture.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse, multi‑site environments with minimal supervision.
- PMP or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred.
Position requires U.S. Citizenship and a U.S. Government background check. May require U.S. Government Secret or Top‑Secret Clearance.
- Candidate must have a current Secret clearance or be able to complete a U.S. government‑administered investigation.
- Must be able to maintain Secret or Top‑Secret clearance.
Requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers to handle tools, operating office equipment, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
Work EnvironmentGeneral office environment. Some domestic and international travel may be required.
