Zing Recruiting is seeking a Construction & Maintenance Project Manager to join a valued client in Fairfax, Virginia
. This position is ideal for a professional experienced in managing commercial facilities and large-scale infrastructure projects, with a focus on maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Pay: $50-$60+ per hour
- Contract:
Long Term (2+ Years, Up to 5 w/ potential for full-time) - Shift: Monday - Friday, 8a-4p w/ Flexibility
The Construction & Maintenance Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing maintenance, repairs, and infrastructure upgrades for a portfolio of over 225 commercial‑owned and leased facilities. This includes management of utilities, space planning, renovations, energy conservation, custodial services, and grounds maintenance. Additionally, the role will coordinate the leasing, management, and disposal of real property in collaboration with the Board of Supervisors and other agencies.
The Project Manager will ensure that all projects are executed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintenance and Upgrades:
Oversee maintenance, repairs, and infrastructure upgrades for commercial facilities. - Utilities and Services Management:
Manage utilities, space planning, renovations, energy conservation, custodial services, and grounds maintenance. - Real Property Coordination:
Coordinate leasing, management, and disposal of real property as requested by the Board of Supervisors and other agencies. - Project Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely and budget‑compliant completion. - Regulatory Compliance:
Review and approve building plans to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. - Vendor and Contractor Management:
Negotiate bids and manage contracts with contractors and vendors, ensuring cost‑effective and high‑quality services. - Safety and Inspections:
Conduct regular inspections and audits to confirm that facilities meet safety and operational standards. - Stakeholder
Collaboration:
Work closely with stakeholders to identify and prioritize facility needs and improvements. - Reporting and Presentation:
Prepare and present reports on project status, budgets, and performance to senior management and relevant County agencies.
- Commercial Building Systems Knowledge:
Strong expertise in commercial systems such as electrical, plumbing, elevators, HVAC, fire alarms, fire suppression, backup generators, and emergency lighting. - Project Management
Skills:
Proven ability to manage projects from inception through completion, including developing Invitations to Bid (ITBs) and coordinating with multiple stakeholders. - Plan Review
Experience:
Demonstrated experience in reviewing and approving building plans for regulatory compliance. - Independent and Self‑Directed:
Able to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision. - Excellent Communication
Skills:
Skilled at communicating with the public, contractors, and elected officials effectively. - Superintendent
Experience:
Experience as a superintendent in the private sector, with required commercial facilities experience.
