A respected litigation team is seeking a 3–7 year Civil Litigation Attorney to handle commercial and business disputes in Fairfax legal jobs. Own cases end-to-end, build trial experience, and work directly with clients in a growth-oriented practice.

As a Litigation Associate Attorney, your work will focus on executing and advancing cases with professionalism, urgency, and strong client service.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage and execute civil litigation cases from inception through settlement, mediation, arbitration, or trial
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and written responses
• Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive memoranda, briefs, and case evaluations
• Prepare clients for hearings, depositions, and mediations; provide clear updates and realistic expectations
• Participate in depositions, court conferences, hearings, and trial preparation
• Collaborate with other attorneys to design case strategy, identify strengths/risks, and map next steps
• Negotiate on behalf of clients and support dispute resolution efforts
• Maintain organized, detailed case files and comply with firm systems, policies, and deadlines
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously while prioritizing urgent tasks and time-sensitive filings

This is a hands-on position that suits someone who wants to grow into a strong General Litigation Attorney with meaningful trial exposure.

Required

• Active license to practice law in Virginia (VA Bar required)
• Experience in civil litigation (courtroom exposure and/or motion practice preferred)
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues, and courts
• Strong organization and attention to detail, including deadline management
• Ability to work independently while contributing in a team environment

Preferred

• Experience in commercial litigation, contract disputes, business litigation, or real estate litigation
• Admission in Washington, DC and/or Maryland (a plus)
• Deposition experience, hearing appearances, mediation participation, or trial prep responsibilities
