This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. WS focuses on cyber and mission IT, electronic warfare, and C5
ISR systems. The role is based in Fairfax, VA, supporting the DoD/DoW Advana War Data Platform (WDP) designed to aggregate operational, intelligence, logistics, and sensor data from multiple domains, enable JADC2, and support AI/ML applications.
- Develop and operate analytic data processing capabilities across all WDP enclaves (Unclassified to Top Secret/JWICS).
- Build analytic transformations, query models, and feature-ready datasets using Databricks, Spark, Python, SQL, and Apache Airflow to enable mission analytics for Combatant Commands, Joint Staff, and interagency partners.
- Implement structured ingestion and refinement workflows aligned to a medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold), incorporating metadata tagging, lineage tracking, and schema harmonization.
- Apply data quality monitoring techniques including drift detection, rule-based validation, profiling engines, and anomaly scoring to enhance accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Configure encryption mechanisms, IAM controls, and audit policies to maintain data integrity under DoD cybersecurity directives.
- Provide Tier‑2 analytic support by diagnosing data defects, resolving tooling inconsistencies, and producing root‑cause analysis reports to guide engineering remediation.
- Collaborate with data engineering, platform operations, and governance teams to align analytic datasets with enterprise reference architectures and catalog requirements.
- Develop dashboards with Tableau, Power BI, Databricks SQL, or Grafana to present availability metrics, throughput indicators, drift scores, latency patterns, and enrichment performance.
- Produce documentation covering analytic workflows, model‑ready tables, transformation logic, and operational dependencies to support maintainability and analytic mission expansion.
- 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 3 years with a Master’s; or 9 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience creating dashboards with Tableau, Power BI, Databricks SQL, or Grafana and building feature-ready datasets using Databricks, Spark, Python, SQL, and/or Apache Airflow.
- Top Secret/SCI eligibility.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Familiarity with Advana architecture, Palantir Foundry, or similar data integration platforms.
- Experience with data governance frameworks and metadata management.
- Agile/SAFe delivery experience in secure environments.
