Description:
The Systems Analyst/Data Analyst supports a federal agency in Washington, DC.
Position Duties:
- Provide data analysis reports for datasubmitted by states.
- Provide data analysis for data on an ad hoc basis.
- Assist in preparing documents for various data collection processes.
- Assist in preparing budget documentation for agency leadership.
- Develop reports in Tableau Desktop for multiple divisions across the federal agency:
- Develop and implement automated data preparation, cleaning and blending processes (Tableau Prep and R) to optimize critical data for analysis and visualization.
- Assist with administration of the Tableau Server, to include the following: creating Sites, Projects, Groups, Users, setting access permissions, publishing data sources and publishing workbooks.
- Perform big data mining, cleaning and manipulating using SQL and R to deliver statistical analyses and visualizations.
- Extract data weekly for the various Tableau reports and publish the data to the Tableau Server.
- Create documentation and presentations.
- Provide ongoing training for data analysts and systems analysts on development of worksheets and dashboards in Tableau.
- Assist data analysts with data preparation to create data sources for use in Tableau.
- Work with Tableau technical support to troubleshoot issues on the Tableau Server and in Tableau Desktop.
- Translate business requirements into effective visualizations and data models using Tableau.
- Create governance processes and procedures.
- Provide technical support to contractors and federal staff within scope of role.
- Manage the Tableau user group and provide technical assistance to Tableau users.
- Support data collection, analysis and visualization projects as needed, including data modeling, database creation, and technical support.
Requires BA/BS degree in a related discipline and at least 8 years of experience in database administration and data analysis.
Experience with the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in a government agency.
Expert user of Tableau, SQL, MS Office (Excel).
Experience with Data Mining, Cleaning and Manipulating (SQL and R).
Demonstrated knowledge of and/or certification in data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI) and scripting languages (Python, R, or Matlab).
Understanding of Gitlab CI/CD pipeline.
Familiar with Machine learning concepts and tools.
Excellent analytical and writing skills.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Highly motivated and collaborative.
This position requires an existing Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.
This position is 100% remote.

The likely salary range for this position is $124,093 - $166,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
