The Senior Solutions Architect leads the design, development, and delivery of advanced technical solutions for Defense, Intelligence, and Federal Civilian customers. This role is both strategic and hands‑on—owning solution strategy, customer engagement, architecture development, proposal leadership, and mentoring team members.
The Senior SA serves as a technical thought leader, translating mission needs into resilient, scalable, secure architecture. This position is expected to independently drive solution development efforts, guide early‑phase capture activities, and ensure solution integrity across complex multi‑domain pursuits. Over time, Senior SA will assume greater supervisory responsibilities and may manage a small team of Solution Architects and technical contributors.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of complete, end‑to‑end architectures spanning cloud, cyber, AI/ML, Dev Sec Ops , data platforms, and C5
ISR mission systems. - Serve as the primary technical lead for assigned pursuits, driving solution strategy and design.
- Identify mission‑aligned technical differentiators and ensure compliance with DoD and Federal standards (DoDAF, RMF, NIST 800‑53, Zero Trust).
- Develop high‑fidelity CONOPS, system models, architecture diagrams, workflow maps, and data flows.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and integrate innovative approaches into DSA’s modernization portfolio.
- Mentor, coach, and guide other Solutions Architects.
- Lead technical work streams and coordinate deliverables among cross‑functional contributors.
- Provide quality control for technical writing, solution artifacts, and architectural content produced by staff.
- Support team performance evaluations and skill development planning.
- Own technical solution sections for major bids, including volumes, diagrams, staffing approaches, and discriminators.
- Partner with capture managers to shape early win themes and mission‑focused value propositions and key differentiators.
- Develop reusable solution frameworks, templates, and modular architecture components to increase proposal velocity.
- Engage with technical customers to define requirements, clarify mission objectives, and shape future opportunities.
- Serve as a technical SME during customer discussions, industry days, or solution demonstrations.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendor partners, OEMs, cloud providers, and tech innovators.
- Produce high‑impact technical narratives, including:
- Technical approaches
- Cyber and data strategies
- AI/ML concepts
- Modernization roadmaps
- Ensure content is compliant, compelling, and aligned to evaluation criteria.
- Interface with BU engineering, cyber, cloud, sustainment, data, and software teams to validate solution integrity.
- Ensure solution approaches meet DoD/DoW architectural, cybersecurity, cloud, and data standards.
- Collaborate with BD, program leadership, and SMEs to ensure alignment from capture through delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years’ experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, cyber, cloud, software, or C5
ISR. - Proven experience shaping and winning Federal/DoD proposals.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/DoD cloud environments).
- Deep understanding of DoD cybersecurity requirements (RMF, Zero Trust, NIST).
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and mentor staff.
- Strong technical writing skills and mastery of Federal RFP structures.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (active preferred).
