Radiation Therapist

Overview

Inova is seeking a Radiation Therapist of all levels to join this dynamic team. Openings for full-time, part-time and PRN positions with 8-hour day shifts, Monday to Friday. Competitive salary based on experience, sign-on bonus and relocation incentives. Includes comprehensive benefits and perks.

Radiation Therapist 1

• Education:
  
  Associate degree required, preferred in radiation therapy.
• Experience:
  
  Completion of Radiation program preferred.
• Certifications:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy or registry eligible within one year of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA required on start.

Radiation Therapist 2

• Work Schedule:
  
  Full-time Day Shift, Monday to Friday.
  
  Education:
  
  Associate degree in Radiation Therapy or Certification.
• Experience:
  
  2 years in a Staff Radiation Therapy department with experience in linear accelerators and patient simulation.
• Certifications:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required on start.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA required on start.
• License:
  Virginia license required (PROC, Woodbridge).

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and team members.
• Plan and deliver treatment modalities and protocols; set up and administer daily treatments.
• Verify proper function of linear accelerators, simulators, and CT machines.
• Position patients for initial treatment and verify setup per prescriptions; verify beam parameters and blocking via verification systems.
• Identify and report unsatisfactory setup or errors to physicians; assist with problem resolution.
• Serve as liaison between physicians and machine staff for complex treatments on various machines.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
