Behavioral Health Therapist II

Job Description Inova Behavioral Health Center Fairfax is looking for a dedicated Behavioral Health Therapist 2 PRN to join the CATS - IOP Merrifield team. This role will be PRN (On‑call/as needed). Department working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. half day and evenings M/W/Th 4:30–9 p.m.

• The Behavioral Health Therapist 2 assesses and diagnoses mental health and/or substance use disorders through a bio/psycho/social department‑specific evidenced based assessment.
• Integrates assessments using information related to cultural, clinical, ethnic, age and other factors into the plan of care.
• Provides a range of therapeutic interventions, psycho‑educational programming and behavioral interventions to assist the patient/family in achieving the goals and objectives of the individualized service plan.
• Provides care management to ensure the patient and family receive and are subsequently referred to appropriate healthcare and community resources to optimize treatment/intervention outcomes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Education:
  
  Master’s Degree, Ph.D., PsyD, or EdD in Mental Health, Social Work, Counseling, Substance Use Disorders or Behavioral Health‑related field.
• Experience:
  
  Two years of experience in mental health/substance use disorder treatment, psycho educational programming including targeted, evidence‑based interventions (crisis intervention, trauma, and integrative therapies).
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support required within 3 months of hire
  • Vistelar required within 6 months of hire
• License: one of the following required upon start
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP)
  • Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP)

• Strong interest in substance use disorders
• Experience in adult services
