Inova Physician Services - Orthopedics - Fair Oaks is looking for a dedicated Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) to join the team. This role will be Full-Time Day shift, Monday - Friday. - Demonstrate a thorough understanding of radiologic principles, theory, anatomy and pathology, and apply the most appropriate techniques and positioning for optimal examinations.
- Adhere to department policies and protocols, ensuring all examinations are optimized for interpretation.
- Confidently operate radiological equipment in all care settings (e.g., fluoroscopy, trauma, Emergency department and the Operating Room).
- Apply radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding.
- Operate imaging and related equipment according to manufacturers’ specifications.
- Administer IV contrast injections per American College of Radiology guidelines.
- Assist in teaching radiography students about sound radiographic principles.
- Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history, informed consent, and explain procedures, reducing anxiety and ensuring cooperation.
- Accurately identify patients and maintain file integrity while tracking patients per department procedures.
- Assist physicians in performing examinations using standard protocols and sterile techniques.
- Recognize and resolve clinical or emergent issues that may interfere with examinations, ensuring optimal outcomes.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited radiography school/program. - Licensure: ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist within 12 months of hire.
- Certification:
Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association. - Experience:
One year of combined classroom and clinical training in radiology, with recent experience as a Radiologic Technologist or student in a hospital/healthcare environment.
