Job Description:

Addison Group is partnering with a professional services firm to identify a Tax Manager to join a growing tax practice. This role offers long-term career growth, including a clearly defined path to leadership and partnership. The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all phases of client tax engagements, managing client relationships, leading and developing staff, and ensuring high-quality, compliant tax deliverables.

The ideal candidate is a CPA with strong technical tax expertise, proven leadership ability, and experience managing complex tax engagements in a public accounting environment.

• Manage all phases of client tax engagements, including planning, budgeting, execution, review, and profitability
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, including managing relationships, billing, and collections
• Review and sign tax returns in compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements
• Lead, coach, and develop team members through detailed review, feedback, and performance management
• Schedule and manage team workloads to ensure efficient and profitable engagement execution
• Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the tax department
• Participate in business development initiatives, including expanding services for existing clients and supporting new client growth
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulatory guidance and assess impact on clients
• Provide leadership within areas of tax specialization and participate in internal committees
• Complete special projects and initiatives as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification
• Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience
• Strong working knowledge of federal and state tax laws and professional standards
• Experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, including corporations, partnerships, LLCs, multi-state filings, and high-net-worth individuals
• Demonstrated experience managing workflow and supervising tax engagement teams
• Strong communication, leadership, and client service skills

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation
• Additional tax-related certifications or demonstrated specialization
