Job Description: We’re seeking a Data Engineer Senior to join our Scientific Modeling, Application, Visualization, Computational Science, Software, and Statistical Support (SMAVCS4) team to support the Environmental Protection Agency. Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP), a scientific organization working to support Agency decisions by providing solutions-driven research to rapidly evaluate the potential human health and environmental risks due to exposures to environmental chemicals and ensure the integrity of the freshwater environment and its capacity to support human well-being.

• The Data Engineer Senior will administer and manage MySQL, Postgre
  
  SQL, and Mongo
  
  DB databases to maintain optimal performance and data integrity.
• Collaborate with backend teams and application development teams to design and implement ETL/ELT processes and optimize them to support EPA data needs.
• Design and implement highly optimized data models to ensure efficient data processing and retrieval.
• Develop and manage data analysis pipelines and database development; support statistical software programming for analyzing complex data.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor of Science
• Experience:
  
  8+ years of related experience
• Technical skills: ETL/ELT, Python
• Security clearance level: must be able to obtain EPA Public Trust Level 4
• US citizenship required
