** Principal Responsibilities:
*** Direct and train Civil Design Technicians to assist them in completing reports, exhibits, plans and specifications and permit applications as required by the project’s contractual scope.
* Lead design efforts for the analysis of civil site design projects for commercial, residential, industrial projects etc.;
Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
* Complete and oversee permit applications for a variety of municipalities in coordination with the team, Client, and reviewing jurisdiction.
* Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phase.
* Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively;
Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
* Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects;
Lead efforts in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives;
Document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress as related to percent complete and fee expended.
* Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions;
Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
* Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civil engineering;
Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
* Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance in all aspects of engineering work;
Interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needs.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
* Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager
** Required Skills & Abilities:
*** Knowledge of industry standard engineering software, primarily Civil 3D.
* Proficient with pipe networking and road corridors.
* Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications.
* Strong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in the civil engineering field.
* Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff.
* Able to lead teams with others that utilize industry standard software that assists with civil engineering analysis and design.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Eagerness to adapt to new challenges.
* Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays.

* Education & Experience:

*** Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required.
* 3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry.

OR
* Associates degree, or certificate, in utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools or engineering preferred.
* 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry.
