Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Contract Specialist to support enterprise-level commercial contracting and acquisition initiatives. This role is ideal for a strategic contract professional with strong experience in contract negotiation, acquisition planning, pricing analysis, and risk mitigation within complex business environments.
The selected candidate will play a key role in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts for goods and services. You will partner closely with internal business units, procurement teams, and legal counsel to ensure contracts align with organizational objectives while minimizing risk and ensuring compliance.
This position requires strong analytical thinking, independent judgment, and the ability to lead negotiations involving complex pricing structures, contract modifications, and performance milestones.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts and purchase agreements
- Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, terms, and conditions
- Develop acquisition strategies, contract types, milestones, and deliverables
- Conduct cost and price analysis to ensure reasonableness and value
- Evaluate proposals and assist business units with bid analysis
- Provide guidance on contractual risk management and mitigation strategies
- Coordinate reviews with Procurement and General Counsel, as needed
- Interpret contract provisions and advise stakeholders on obligations and compliance
- Lead contract modifications, close-outs, and termination processes
- Present strategic alternatives and recommendations to resolve complex issues
- Anticipate potential contract risks and proactively identify solutions
- Ensure contracts meet required standards of accuracy, compliance, and documentation
- 5+ years of experience in contract management, commercial contracting, or acquisition planning
- Strong knowledge of contract law, terms and conditions, and procurement best practices
- Experience in pricing analysis, cost containment strategies, and proposal evaluation
- Demonstrated experience negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Proven ability to evaluate and mitigate contractual risk
- Experience preparing written bids, proposals, and negotiation objectives
- Advanced analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, contract documentation tools)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and in team settings
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Contract Management, Information Technology, or related field
