Overview

We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our growing Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for handling day-to-day accounting tasks and assisting with financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to use technology with maximum efficiency and impact in a client-facing environment while maintaining a focus on delivering accurate and timely services.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting
  • Record transactions from banks and/or third-party applications with knowledge of client operations
  • Code clients' vendor invoices for payment and to optimize cash flow
  • Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank accounts, and other financial statement accounts
  • Assist with accounting software setup and reporting for clients
  • Understand and identify accounting and other operational issues experienced by clients in the industries we serve
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Assist the CAAS client team in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Perform analysis projects as requested by clients or senior team members
Tax Compliance & Preparation
  • Prepare sales tax and property tax returns
Team Collaboration & Engagement Management
  • Work closely with senior accountants, managers, and other team members to ensure deadlines and project milestones are met
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on client deliverables and deadlines
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Perform administrative tasks as required for client engagements
  • Handle all types of client engagements efficiently, professionally, and in a timely manner
Professional Development & Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current with industry trends, accounting standards and regulations
  • Master and maintain proficiency in accounting software, tools, and related systems
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting software and tools (required)
    • Quick Books Online
    • Bill
    • Excel
    • Microsoft products
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • 1 + years of CPA firm experience or industry accounting experience (preferred)
  • CPA, CMA or CPA/CMA candidate (preferred)
  • Ability to quickly learn new accounting software and tools
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple clients and deadlines,
  • Maintain high-quality work with low error rates
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Experience in specialized industries (construction, real estate, non-profits, and professional services)
Working Conditions & Benefits:
  • Business hours Monday-Friday with core hours from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
