Overview
Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is looking for Registered Nurse OR Circulator Trainees in beautiful Fairbanks, Alaska. This Surgical Services Registered Nurse Circulator Trainee position will join a dynamic Peri-Operative Department team. The successful candidate will be willing to commit to the program for three years.
Periop 101 is a comprehensive, blended educational program that is:
- Developed by AORN's expert perioperative nurse authors
- Based on AORN's latest, evidence-based Guidelines of Perioperative Practice
This program combines a standardized, evidence-based online curriculum and textbook readings with hands-on skills labs and a clinical practicum. Plus, all Periop 101 students receive a 1-year complimentary AORN membership.

While working in an acute care environment, this position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of acute patients. This position provides care in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice, utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his/her direction.
This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data, plan, provide, and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
ResponsibilitiesPlans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient's status.
Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
