Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Overview
About the Position: Do you like to solve technical problems? Are you effective at troubleshooting? If so, we have a challenging opportunity as a Technician in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Hourly Range: $ per hour (Based on Skills & Experience)
Responsibilities- Diagnosing and repairing Caterpillar equipment, including removing, repairing, assembling and installing.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems; experience with CAT diagnostic equipment, CAT repair tooling, rigging and blocking equipment is essential.
- Plan and organize work with a focus on controlling job costs.
- Investigate, analyze and identify problems to make recommendations that eliminate the issue.
- Maintain effective communication, including strong interpersonal skills and clear writing for utilizing internal software and other programs.
Skills and Abilities
- A high school diploma or equivalent, or graduation from a 2-4 year vocational/technical school or equivalent experience is required.
- A valid driver's license is essential for potential forklift driving and operation of equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, hoists, cranes, pressure washers, and more.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Outlook.
- Ability to stand up to eight hours per day; includes twisting, bending, squatting, sitting, stooping and kneeling. Flexibility to travel for extended periods to work with customers may be required.
- Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal.
