Spring Break Healthcare Intensive — This 40-hour immersive program is designed exclusively for high school students graduating in 2026 who are eager to explore careers in healthcare. Over the course of spring break, participants dive into real-world clinical environments, gaining exposure to the fast-paced, high-impact work that defines today’s medical fields.

Hands-On, Competitive, and Career-Focused Students selected for this competitive program work directly with healthcare professionals, practice foundational skills, and build confidence through guided simulations, team-based activities. The experience is structured to mirror the expectations of entry-level healthcare roles, giving participants a meaningful head start on their post-graduation pathways.

Launch Your Future in Healthcare By the end of the week, students walk away with practical skills, professional insights, and a clearer sense of the opportunities available in hospitals, clinics, and other care settings. This intensive is ideal for motivated students who want to stand out, build experience early, and prepare for a successful transition into the healthcare workforce after graduation.

About Fairbanks Memorial Hospital Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is a non-profit facility owned by the Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation. A Joint Commission-accredited facility with 152 licensed beds, Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is the primary referral center for residents of Alaska's interior. • May perform other office and clerical support work including, but not limited to, making copies, sending faxes, opening/distributing mail, and maintaining supplies.
• Expands and develops knowledge with exposure to a variety of roles related to area of study.
• Participates on work teams, contributes to projects and initiatives, and performs various tasks as needed by the assigned unit/department.
• May accompany Foundation Health Partner's employees into patient areas to observe and maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
• Works cohesively with team members to ensure delivery of outstanding customer service, in a positive work environment, that supports the department’s ongoing goals and objectives.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

• Minimum Qualifications
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have general knowledge related to the department/unit/area of study.
  • Proficiency with commonly used office software and personal computers may be necessary, depending on assignment.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
