Job DescriptionYou will help maximize the physical readiness and long-term health of fighter aircrew by addressing musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries, particularly related to neck and back pain caused by flight demands. As a multidisciplinary team member, you will be an important part of the injury prevention, performance enhancement, and rehabilitation aspects of fighter aircrew.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct MSK Evaluations and Interventions.
- Design, Implement, and monitor individualized injury prevention and rehabilitation programs.
- Order Imaging, Labs, and Specialist consultations as needed.
- Documentation of work performed in approved electronic record systems.
- Educate Aircrew and leadership on injury prevention, ergonomics, and recovery strategies.
- Comply with all DHA, DoD, and MTF protocols.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Doctor of Physical Therapy from CAPTE-accredited program.
- 3+ years’ experience as a PT in Collegiate, Professional, Olympic, Tactical (military), Aerospace industry, or similar environment supporting man-machine high-performance. Experience must include recency within the last 2 years.
- Current (or ability to obtain prior to start date) healthcare provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Current (or ability to obtain and maintain) Secret security clearance (T3 background investigation).
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- 5+ years’ experience as a PT in Collegiate, Professional, Olympic, Tactical (military), Aerospace industry, or similar environment supporting man-machine high-performance. Experience must include recency within the last 2 years.
- At least one of the following:
- ABPTS OCS or SCS certification; or
- Orthopedic or Sports residency / Fellowship Trained; or
- Advanced Dry Needling Certification (Level
2) and Orthopedic Manual Therapy (OMT) Certification.
