- Compensation $21.07 to $30.34 hourly wage based on experience and education

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. It is responsible for ongoing patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.

- Provides assistance in activities of daily living and tasks to promote patient health, including basic hygiene, mobility, and nutritional support as needed.
- Collects patient specimens and data, including vital signs and input/output, and documents objective data and routine aspects of patient care. Assists in transporting patient specimens.
- Recognizes and reports abnormalities or changes in health status to a licensed professional. Communicates patient status clearly to other caregivers to promote continuity of care.
- Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, consistent with demonstrated competencies and state scope of practice; procedures may include blood draws, urinary catheter removal, EKGs, and EKG monitoring.
- Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations and communication. Helps resolve customer issues or gather necessary data for problem resolution.
- Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures reports and chart forms are scanned or filed.
- Ensures charting forms are labeled and accessible. Maintains adequate supplies of patient education materials. Assists in ordering patient specimens and may transcribe/process physician orders in the electronic medical record.
- Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when needed. Reconciles supply orders and tracks use of equipment such as patient and laptops.
- Based on assignment, may assist with transporting patients (including pre-operative and immediate post-operative patients) and participate in OR room turnover.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and professional standards. Provides excellent service by demonstrating core and leadership behaviors daily.

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Current BLS certification. Current CNA license in the state of practice may be required in certain facilities and/or departments per regulatory requirements or policy. Depending on department assignment, completion of a unit-approved basic electrocardiogram or electroencephalographic interpretation course, or on-the-job training with a minimum passing score of 85% on ECG/EEG tests, with accurate identification of all lethal cardiac dysrhythmias or epileptiform activity.
