The goal of HOPE is to improve mental health outcomes for children and youth at risk for or with serious emotional disturbance and to bring new hope through its comprehensive and early intervention approach for the children, youth, and their families.

This position is responsible for coordinating HOPE services among the Behavioral Health Community Coalition (BHCC) and four behavioral health service units:
Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), Assessment, Children, Youth and Young Adult Services (YYAS), and Suicide Prevention.

• Conduct SBIRT with youth referred to HOPE using empathy and evidence‑based practices.
• Provide a warm handoff to a Family Peer Specialist for crisis support until day‑treatment admission.
• Ensure new consumer charts are created in the EHR within one business day.
• Track referral times.
• Streamline care by meeting monthly with HOPE staff and allied service units.
• Participate in monthly meetings to assess progress and address consumer experience challenges.
• Engage in continuous quality improvement and data‑driven decision‑making to assess program efficacy.
• Assess service flow annually and report findings to supervisor.
• Maintain data collection adherence and enter accurate, timely data into the EHR.
• Attend mandatory position training on risk factors as designated by the Project Director and/or Clinical Supervisor.
• Attend all required staff meetings.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

• Ability to report to work on time.
• Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health disorders for effective consumer support.
• Experience providing culturally specific programming for Alaska Native/American Indian populations.
• Proficiency with computers, including Word and Excel, and accurate data entry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of how to assist escalated individuals during data collection.
• Ability to protect confidentiality; HIPAA & 42 CFR compliant.
• Knowledge of billing procedures.
• Skill in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Ability to work independently as well as with teams.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in System of Care (SOC) services.
• One year of experience working with AN/AI populations.
• One year of experience working in the mental health field.

• Experience working with infants and toddlers.
• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or a related field.
