Responsibilities- Evaluate patients' functional abilities and limitations to determine appropriate interventions. Develop and implement treatment plans and goals as ordered by physicians or referral sources.
- Implement individualized treatment plans considering patients' physical, social, spiritual, cultural, educational, and age-specific needs. Re-evaluate plans as necessary to ensure optimal benefits.
- Educate patients, families, and care providers to promote participation and goal attainment. Provide clear instructions for home programs.
- Document treatments according to professional and regulatory standards.
- Participate in training other staff and students.
All functions are performed according to policies, procedures, standards, and regulations. The role emphasizes providing excellent service by demonstrating core and leadership behaviors daily.
Qualifications- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current licensure in the state of practice.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence or acceptance into Clinical Fellowship Year.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum one year of recent experience in an acute care hospital setting, including within the past 12 months, in the specialty area.
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
- Proficiency with computer software in a patient care environment.
Additional related education and experience are preferred.
