The CNSM Physics Department is seeking applicants interested in part-time student employment as paper graders. This is an applicant pool for potential openings that may happen during the Academic year. As a reminder, student jobs are hired on an as-needed basis. Review of applications may begin immediately or at any time when there is a need. Successful submission of an application does not guarantee an offer of employment.
Applicants will be reviewed to ensure good academic and judicial standing.
These positions are responsible for grading papers for lower level physics courses as assigned; post grades online and answer questions from students regarding grades as needed.
Typically two years of physics and math is sufficient. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and to post grades correctly. Duties require considerable math and physics knowledge and skills. Ability to work safely.
Minimum Qualifications
Canvas familiarity a plus, but not required. Ability to use a spreadsheet/data tracking program such as Excel. Must be a student at UAF and enrolled in at least 6 credits during an applicable semester and have at least one year of physics (two preferred) at level consistent with course being graded. PHYS 211 and 212
Position Details
This position is located on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. This is a part-time, student position. New hires start at $15.26/hr and CNSM offers a 2% increase for consecutive academic years up to our max.
