Overview
The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Administrative Assistant to support the Dean’s Office. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient business operations and high-quality faculty and administrative services.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the Dean’s Office and upper-level leadership.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups; work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing; exercise sound judgment.
- Handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Comprehend and interpret written materials and apply applicable policies, rules, and regulations, including the UNAC Collective Bargaining Agreement and UA Board of Regents policies.
- Prepare technically and grammatically accurate correspondence.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Google Workspace (Calendar, Drive, Docs, Groups), Zoom, and relational databases to schedule, coordinate, and communicate.
- An Associate’s degree and two years of progressively responsible experience related to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.
This full-time, non-exempt staff position is physically located on the UAF Troth Yeddha’ Campus in Fairbanks. The position offers a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
