Rasmuson Library is currently looking for students for our Circulation counter for check‑in and check‑out, book‑stacks maintenance, and patron assistance. Up to 20 hours per week during the academic year with various shifts available that may include evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities- Learn and perform assigned work under the general direction of Circulation Supervisors, follow written and oral instructions, file alphanumerically, work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students, and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
- Handle minor problems daily and occasional difficult issues that may require supervisor help.
- Perform detailed, monotonous work with a high degree of accuracy, maintaining confidentiality and conducting yourself in accordance with University Regulations and Alaska Library Statutes.
- Work with minimal supervision, maintain flexibility to learn a variety of Nicht–tasks and work with multiple departments.
- Currently enrolled as a UAF student taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student.
- Demonstrate the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Possess strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with individuals from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Proactive and able to work independently.
- Proficient in Google applications, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
This recruitment is open to undergraduate students only.
This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks. It is a part‑time, student assistant position, starting rate of $15.57 per hour.

- Monday – Thursday: 8:00 am – 9:00 pm
- Friday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Saturday: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
