Nanook Recreation is dedicated to providing the university community with opportunities and facilities that support active, healthy lifestyles—both on campus and in the stunning Alaskan outdoors. We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Facility Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This role plays a key part in keeping our facilities safe, welcoming, and fully functional for all patrons.
To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills, a curiosity for understanding how equipment functions, and hands-on experience with small electric engines, electronics, or vehicle maintenance. Equally important are excellent customer service skills, ensuring that every interaction with patrons is positive and supportive.
Minimum Qualifications:- 6+ months of mechanical maintenance or machine/fabrication shop experience, ability to read manuals, and basic knowledge of Google Suites.
- 6+ months of customer service experience
- Additional preferred skills (but not required):
Electronics diagnostics, maintenance, and repair
This is an hourly, part-time student position. Starting rate of pay is $14.67 per hour.
