Diabetic Screener; Photographer

Diabetic Eye Screener (Photographer) – New Malden, England

Permanent, full‑time (37.5 hours per week) position within the South West London eye screening programme. The successful candidate will work 5 days a week, running local clinics, photographing patients’ eyes and grading retinal images to assess for diabetic retinopathy.

• Run local screening clinics and engage with patients
• Capture high‑quality retinal images using our photographic equipment
• Assess images for diabetic retinopathy and record findings
• Work largely unsupervised once training is complete, maintaining a calm, customer‑focused approach in a sometimes pressured environment

• Customer‑focused with excellent interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn (training provided)
• Organised and able to prioritise tasks
• Good problem‑solving skills
• Able to work under pressure
• Previous experience working with the public is ideal
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including A‑C in English, Maths and a science subject (or equivalent)
